​

The recording and mixing workshops aim to teach you how to record and mix audio tracks professionally. You’ll have the opportunity to learn in a professional recording facility, with industry professionals who will teach you: how to record various instruments from drums, guitar, bass to vocals, position instruments in a stereo space and balance audio tracks so that you hear everything at the appropriate levels.

Suitable for individuals that have basic experience in playing instruments/singing or producing music.

*Please take note that you are required to bring your own laptop with a downloaded DAW of your choice (i.e. Logic Pro X, Ableton) or an iPad with Garage Band. 

*Bring an audio interface if you own one.

  • Learn to record different instruments with a mic or midi controller.

  • Possess fundamental music knowledge of how to use a DAW to record and mix audio tracks

  • Understand basic positioning for instruments in a stereo space

  • Have a basic understanding about mastering

  • Listen actively to different kinds of mixes and their own mixes to improve their aural skills

The Basic Production 101 Workshop aims to teach you how to start recording and producing your own music. You’ll have the opportunity to learn in a professional recording facility, with industry professionals who will teach you: what gear you’ll need, how to use a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW), basic music theory & arrangement concepts of genres through active listening, how to communicate musically and how to use virtual instruments.

Suitable for beginners and music lovers.

*Please take note that you are required to bring your own laptop with a downloaded DAW of your choice (i.e. Logic Pro X, Ableton) or an iPad with Garage Band. 

*Bring an audio interface if you own one.

 


Course Objectives

  • Learn to record yourself with a mic or midi controller.

  • Possess fundamental music knowledge of how to use a DAW to produce and record music.

  • Understand the elements that make a song, and arrangement techniques to enhance melodic ideas.

The Pop Production Workshop aims to teach you how to create your own pop track in the style of Ariana Grande – 7 Rings. You’ll have the opportunity to learn in a professional recording facility, with industry professionals who will teach you: the arrangement & production concepts behind “7 Rings” and how to apply these techniques. 
 

Suitable for people with a little bit of experience with DAWs. Beginners are welcome too.

* Please take note that you are required to bring your own laptop with a downloaded DAW of your choice (i.e. Logic Pro X, Ableton, etc.).

*Bring an audio interface if you own one.

 

Course Objectives

  • Understand the elements that make a song in the style of Ariana Grande's “7 Rings”, and arrangement techniques to enhance your melodic ideas

  • How to create your own sounds and alter existing samples.

  • Use various plugins, VSTs and samplers to achieve sonic effects.

  • Listen actively to music and your own original music to improve your skills.

Born to a musical and business-savy family, Tabitha was trained extensively in both the creative & academic realm. Having lived and worked in the US & UK in her formative years, she brings a wealth of experience and cultural understanding to the table.
 
Tabitha weaves beautiful fantasy scenes in her music, blending the nostalgia of Japanese games with visceral cyberpunk soundscapes. Her focus on electronic & synth-based production and background in 21st century classical music has led to her working on many exciting and diverse projects, ranging from pop, to metal, to epic fantasy music for artistes & corporates alike.

From working the front of a stage to producing in the studio, this multi-hyphenate producer has a rare talent in being able to switch genres, all whilst producing at the highest quality and illuminating the talents he works with. Shaykh, otherwise known as shaykhandbake, is a music producer and session guitarist based in Singapore, a graduate of the Lasalle College of Arts, Singapore.

He has produced genres spanning from punk rock to pop, hip hop and R&B music, bringing a signature production style rooted in electronic production to each project and artist collaboration. This transcendence has enabled him to work with Asia’s leading acts from Warner Music to Sony Music Entertainment and Universal Music. To date, shaykhandbake has toured the region with both local and global acts, and also produced in Los Angeles.

Known as a detailed and skilled recording engineer, Dale has recorded for world-famous artistes such as Alessia Cara, Margaret Leng Tan and Sezairi. He is well acquainted with all sorts of genres from jazz to pop and even classical Indian. Furthermore, as a former electric guitar sessionist, Dale is familiar with recording and mixing bands.

As a versatile, knowledgeable and fun ESFJ, it is no wonder that Noivil's interns enjoy hanging out with him.

An unduly inquisitive creature, Raywyn Zayne started out in 2014 as a Live Sound Engineer who was introduced to the art of Mastering while enrolled in Audio Production at LASALLE College of the Arts.
 
Since then, Raywyn has devoted his time to the ever-evolving, ever-changing art-form. Being a versatile engineer, his works span across genres, including hardcore punk, praise and worship, electronic pop, classical works, and more. He was recently approved as a licensed vendor for Apple Digital Masters.
